Hibiscus

Hibiscus, or Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, gives large, bold flowers, often in bright red, that open fresh every morning and usually last just one day before a new one opens the next.

It comes in a 25cm pot and grows 60 to 80cm tall, and it needs a spot with full sun for the best and most frequent flowers, making it a great match for open UAE gardens and sunny balconies.

Water it 3 to 4 times a week in summer, since it does not like to dry out completely like some desert plants. Feed it every few weeks during the flowering months to keep new blooms coming, and trim old flowers to keep the plant tidy.
