Peace Lily

Peace Lily has dark green, shiny leaves and tall white flowers that look a little like a small flag. It grows naturally in shady, humid forests in South America, so it is used to living under bigger trees with soft, filtered light.

Keep it away from direct sun. A corner near a window with sheer curtains, or a shaded balcony spot, works well. It comes in a 20cm pot and grows 40 to 50cm tall.

Peace Lily likes its soil a little moist, so water it twice a week and mist the leaves sometimes, especially useful in air conditioned UAE homes where the air can get dry. When it needs water, the leaves droop a little, then stand back up after watering, an easy signal even for a first time plant owner.
