Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a thick leaved succulent known for the soothing gel inside its leaves, commonly used at home for minor burns and dry skin. It comes in a 15cm pot and is one of the most useful plants you can keep around.

It loves bright light and does very well on a sunny windowsill indoors or a partly shaded spot outdoors in the UAE, and it is naturally built to handle long dry spells.

Water it deeply but only once every 2 to 3 weeks, letting the soil dry out fully between waterings, since overwatering is the main risk with this plant. Over time it produces small new plants at its base, called pups, which you can separate into new pots.
