Date Palm Sapling

Date Palm is the tree most connected to the history and identity of the UAE, grown here for hundreds of years before modern buildings arrived. This young sapling comes in a 40cm pot and stands 60 to 80cm tall.

It grows slowly, so this is a long term addition to a villa garden or large pot on a terrace, but it becomes one of the toughest, most rewarding trees you can own, handling full sun, heat, and even salty soil once mature.

Water it regularly during its first year or two, 2 to 3 times a week, while it builds a strong root system, then it needs much less. Many families in the UAE plant one to mark a special date, a tree that will still be growing long after that.
