Marigold

Marigold gives cheerful, rounded flowers in bright orange and yellow shades, and it is one of the easiest flowering plants to grow, even for someone starting their very first garden.

It comes in a 15cm pot and thrives in full sun, making it ideal for a sunny balcony rail, garden border, or placed near vegetable plants, since it is known to help keep some common pests away.

Water it every 2 to 3 days, keeping the soil moist but not soggy, and remove spent flowers to keep new ones coming. Marigolds are also a favourite in the cooler UAE winter months when many other flowering plants are less active.
