Not every plant can handle a Dubai summer. But some plants actually enjoy the heat and full sun. Here are 10 good choices for a UAE garden or balcony.

1. Bougainvillea — flowers almost all year and barely needs water once it settles.
2. Date Palm — the most UAE plant there is, made for this exact weather.
3. Ghaf Tree — the national tree, very strong and low water.
4. Adenium (Desert Rose) — built for hot, dry weather.
5. Agave Americana — almost no water needed once planted.
6. Oleander — good for hedges, handles heat and wind.
